« The new principle in architecture is this principle of the interior support, the extended slab, the arm, and the falling screen hanging to the slab. Now that’s the structural synthesis of my own building, and it is essentially organic in itself. And that is ‘Falling Water’ in principle. And the grammar of ‘Falling Water’ - now we call the grammar of ‘the building the shapely means to make the building manifest - that was all a new grammar. »

« Le nouveau principe en architecture est celui du support intérieur, de la dalle étendue, les portants et les murs de cloison étant suspendus à la dalle. C’est maintenant la synthèse structurelle de ma propre façon de construire, et c’est avant tout intégré à elle-même.
